T.G.I.T. (Thank God It’s Tuesday) Wholetonians,
First, I want to thank all of you who took advantage of our “Shadow Ban” event last week. I am doing all I can to stay connected with all of you. Because of changes in “relevance” algorithms, Facebook and Google are causing some big problems for a lot of us. So, in a nutshell, what we have here is a failure to communicate (that’s a line from the film, “Cool Hand Luke” 🙂 !
Some of you have told me that you haven’t been seeing my emails and Wholetonians around the world haven’t been seeing my Facebook posts as well! That is why we sent an email daily last week in an attempt to reach you.
We are doing everything possible to make sure that we are connected. We’ve found one way to avoid having our signal crossed…join our new text list by texting the word “Tones” to (833) 300-4888! We promise no more than one critical text message per month!
Today’s musing is all about communication (or the lack thereof), so let’s examine this weeks topic: “Signal or Noise.”
Communication (sharing information) is paramount! We live in an information generation, yet each day, even with all of our advanced technology, it is becoming increasingly more difficult to get reliable intel. News agencies, social media, etc., have reached a new low in disinformation, and twisting the truth.
Friends, truth is the most vital ingredient needed for clear, reliable communication. The truth sets us free! In fact, whether it’s a marriage, a business, or a friendship, it will only stand the test of time if truth is the foundation.
The one whose walk is blameless,
who does what is righteous,
who speaks the truth from their heart;
whose tongue utters no slander,
who does no wrong to a neighbor,
and casts no slur on others. – Psalm 15: 2-3
Those of you who have been reading my Tuesday emails for awhile know that everything is frequency: every thought, every intention, and…every word! So when we communicate, we are either transmitting signal (pure; honest) or noise (chaotic; corrupt). For example, if you were between two radio stations on the FM dial, you would only hear noise, but if you adjust the dial to the right or left, you would dial in the proper signal you desired in with crystal clear transmission.
In our culture, we are constantly bombarded by “noise pollution,” so when someone transmits signal (truth spoken with love) it is like a breath of fresh air! The power of life and death resides in our tongue; signal or noise, the ability to create or destroy. A kind word can resuscitate a hurting person, or a hurtful word can devastate them.
So dear friend, what are you transmitting? Signal…or noise? You can literally change your life by changing your words. It sounds simple, but it’s actually quite profound! You may not be able to change the world, but you can certainly change your marriage, health, business, and relationships by speaking life to them.
Always mean what you say, and say what you mean. All I can tell you is, for me, it has literally made all of the difference. You have heard it said that “talk is cheap.” That is only partially true. When you speak words of life, that is priceless! Keep watch over your words, and they will watch out for you. Until next time…
