Tuesday muse-day Wholetonians,

By the time you read this week’s musing, we will have observed an extremely important day on the calendar, 11/11/19… Veteran’s Day. On this day we honor all of the amazing men and women of our armed services, both past and present.

Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends”- John 15:13

These selfless men and woman fought battles on foreign soil, some making the ultimate sacrifice, to keep us free back here in America…now that is love. And speaking of love, let’s examine this week’s musing, “Love Never Fails.”

There is no greater power in the universe than love, and my friends…God Is Love. Thus love never fails…ever. Love brings us into this world, love saves our lives, love makes a marriage work… love conquers all! Truth be told, the secret ingredient behind every note of every Wholetones project is love…and you can feel it.

This morning, I saw a video that touched me deeply. A dog that had been beaten severely and left to die was discovered by a man. The man tried to get close to the dog and the dog snarled and snapped at the man. The man, undaunted by the angry dog, addressed the animal with these words: “Within three days, you will love me and I will love you. We will become the best of friends.” On day one, while the man was trying to pet the dog, the dog bit the man’s hand savagely. On day two, the dog let the man pet her, and the dog licked his face. And on day three, the dog, jumped on the man’s lap, licked his face, and wouldn’t leave his side.

What was really amazing was the unbelievable change in the dog’s countenance; such a sweetness in her eyes! When we love the unloveable, miraculous transformation occurs! It is simple to love those who are easy to love, but to love those who are a challenge… it takes pure love indeed!

“A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.” John 13:34

Do you desire to change the world? Love has the power to offset hate and division, heal emotional wounds, and restore relationships. This quote is from the amazing guitarist, Jimi Hendrix: “When the power of love overcomes the love of power, the world will know peace.”

In 1965, the song: “What The World Needs Now Is Love,” by Hal David/Burt Bacharach was released. Here are a few of the lyrics:

What the world needs now is love, sweet love
It’s the only thing that there’s just too little of
What the world needs now is love, sweet love
No not just for some but for everyone

Lord we don’t need another mountain
There are mountains and hillsides enough to climb
There are oceans and rivers enough to cross
Enough to last until the end of time

What the world needs now is love, sweet love
It’s the only thing that there’s just too little of
What the world needs now is love, sweet love
No not just for some but for everyone

Lord, we don’t need another meadow
There are corn fields and wheat fields enough to grow
There are sunbeams and moonbeams enough to shine
Oh listen Lord, if You want to know

Dear friends, let me leave you with a song I wrote back in 2011. I think you’ll agree that it is the perfect end to this week’s musing. It is titled, “Love Revolution.” Start a revolution today… you will be victorious because love NEVER fails!

Be Whole,

Michael S. Tyrrell
