Happy Tuesday Wholetonians,

Hopefully, wherever you are, things are looking up! Most states have begun the slow, tedious process of reopening. Our state starts “phase one” next Monday. Today I started to see more people on the road. Our neighbors were out cutting the lawn, playing with their kids in the yard, and one of them was even riding their horse on the trail. Like you, I have spent more time around the house in the last three months than I have in the last three years! And I can honestly say… I am all the better for it.

Truth be told, I am learning to find the good in every situation, and look for a silver lining in every dark cloud. Things I have needed to do (that I was always too busy to accomplish) are getting done! Truly, this “splendid isolation” has made me a better man in so many ways.

As you can imagine, I have received many emails and Facebook messages asking me if I think it’s the end of the world, if the return of Jesus is imminent, will the coronavirus kill us all… pretty amazing that people would believe I had the answers! The fact is, people are afraid, anxious, and panic stricken, and they are desperate for truthful answers.

And the reason for people’s fear is obvious…when the truth is hidden, fear is the result. And unfortunately, many are trying to find “truth” on social media. As many of you are keenly aware, Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube have recently changed their “community standards” algorithm…which filters any content THEY deem unacceptable… a major violation of our freedom of speech!

Many of our friends have been deeply affected by this unprecedented infringement of their rights. Last week, Ty and Charlene Bollinger (The Truth About Cancer) were told that ALL three of their Twitter accounts had been suspended… indefinitely. So, when the governing bodies of all social media take it upon themselves to silence anyone that has an opposing point of view, what we have left is merely…propaganda! One of the reasons I am in the best place in my life is simple…I don’t spend a lot of time looking at negative, worthless propaganda.

Psalm 103:3, “I will not set anything worthless before my eyes. I hate the practice of transgression; it will not cling to me.”

Your eyes are the window to your soul…and you are the one responsible for what you focus on. Consequentially, when a crook robs a house, he always tries to gain access by a window first! It is vitally important to realize that we need to be very discerning when it comes to what we spend our time looking at. Think of your eyes as a gate, and you are the gatekeeper. You alone determines what gets in!

Psalm 34:5, “Keep your eyes on the LORD! You will shine like the sun and never blush with shame.”

Matthew 6:22, “The lamp of the body is the eye. If therefore your eye is sound, your whole body will be full of light.”

My friend, what does your “2020 Vision” look like? What are you focusing on: a problem, a solution, an inconvenience, or an opportunity? Please maximize every moment of your day by focusing on that which brings life.

Philippians 4:8,9 “Summing it all up, friends, I’d say you’ll do best by filling your minds and meditating on things true, noble, reputable, authentic, compelling, gracious—the best, not the worst; the beautiful, not the ugly; things to praise, not things to curse. Put into practice what you learned from me, what you heard and saw and realized. Do that, and God, who makes everything work together, will work you into his most excellent harmonies.”

And please, don’t bring social media to bed with you. Focus on something beautiful before you retire at night, and  if you want to see something really beautiful, look in the mirror!

Dear ones, we will get through this together. Before you know it, things will be better…how do I know? Hindsight is always, 20/20! 🙂

Until next time…

Be Whole,
Michael S. Tyrrell
